How do I become a Lex & Terry online member?

Visit the Lex & Terry Online Store and purchase a one-month or one-year membership. The longer the membership, the better the value, as you'll have special access to member-only content. After check-out, visit the Listener's Lounge and set-up your member profile. What are you waiting for?

I'm Having Issues with the Webcams

You have to be a member of the site to see the webcams.

If you are having issues, here are a few things to note...

There are a few things you need to check up on.  Depending on the browser and type of computer...

PC IE7:  You need to have the latest version of Window Media Player.  When you click on the 'red arrow' or camera links, if it doesn't do anything, make sure you have given permission for the "Active X" to run.

Firefox:  Make sure you have upgraded to the latest version AND upgraded the WMP plug-in as well.

MAC:  You have to download the "Flip4Mac" plug in that converts the file to work in the Apple environment.

Also:  There is audio on both cameras, but they will NOT sync up.  There is no audio during the breaks.

If you are getting an "echo" or "delay effect", make sure you do not also have up and running the separate audio stream.

How do I establish my online profile?

First, purchase a membership at the Online Store and complete your check-out. Visit the Listener's Lounge and set-up your member profile.

I forgot my password. What do I do?

From the Lex & Terry Home Page, click on the "Forgot your password?" link and enter the e-mail address you provided when you set-up your member profile. You will be sent an email containing a NEW password.

Then, from the Home Page, log-in with the new password and you're in! If you'd like to reset your password, after logging in, visit the Listener's Lounge and click on the "Change Password" link and re-enter your current password then enter your NEW password twice, for good measure.

How do I know if I'm logged into the Lex & Terry web site?

Visit the Lex & Terry Home Page. If you see a big "Welcome" and you see your name and e-mail address, you're logged in, idiot!

I received a new password but I don't like it. How do I reset it?

If you'd like to reset your password, log-in and visit the Listener's Lounge and click on the "Change Password" link and re-enter your current password (the password you hate). Enter your NEW password twice and you should be golden.

SHOW INFORMATION

What is the show's history?

Both are son’s of car salesmen that just happened to meet at a party in LA over ten years ago. A friendship was born, and when Lex, the Program Director for WFYV, needed a new morning host he called Terry. Lex was supposed to be Terry’s partner only temporarily while they looked for a permanent one, but it was obvious from the start that together, Lex & Terry, was going to be a great morning show.

The Lex & Terry Show, a nationally syndicated morning radio program, delivers a unique blend of lifestyle advice, humor and on-air community to men 18-49. Irreverent hosts Lex Staley and Terry Jaymes have grown the show in four short years from a single market in Jacksonville, Florida, into a thriving network. The program’s formula, which has hit a chord with men seeking lifestyle advice and camaraderie, has galvanized a loyal fan base that propels the show’s continued growth.

As successful entertainers and businessmen, Lex & Terry have developed a proven strategy to penetrate new, often challenging markets and generate profits for affiliates. By focusing on localized content, network-wide audience involvement and top quality production, The Lex & Terry Show combines the best aspects of local and nationally syndicated programming. In addition, both hosts commit considerable effort to community and charitable activities throughout the affiliate markets.

The show’s ability to rapidly turn around a ratings-deprived station has made them an especially attractive buy in many markets. The Lex & Terry Show has delivered strong returns for affiliates across the country.

Can I come and hang out to watch the show?

The guys always welcome people to hang out, but it needs to be something scheduled before hand. If you are going to be in the Dallas area and want to see the show, fill out this form.

What’s up with that “beeping” sound on the show?

That is us “censoring” something that per the vague FCC rules and guidelines we cannot allow to go out over the air. If you want to hear the show uncensored, you can get a subscription to the site and download the podcast which is the show without the beeps!

How do I get to participate in stuff you do on the air?

Generally we have a place on the site for you to fill out and submit. When you hear Lex & Terry talk about an event or something to sign up for, just come to the site and the place to do that will be right there!

Where is the show based?

The show is based in Dallas, Texas at our flagship station, KEGL 97-1 "The Eagle".

When the show first came back to Dallas in Feb. 2006, the show was on KDGE, 102.1 "The Edge", but Clear Channel brought back a rock station to Dallas that they had blown up a few years ago.  Thinking that L&T would be a better fit to a rock station versus an alternative station, they moved a few wires and now the show can be heard on "The Eagle"...

How can I intern for the show?

Please refer to the intern page found here, but you must be registered in a college or trade school and get credit for your time spent with the show. Internships are unpaid.

How do I get the show on my local station?

We are constantly working to find new affiliates, but your voice as a listener holds a lot of power in swaying the minds of station decision makers. Please call your local station and ask to speak to the Program Director or General Manager and tell them that you would like to hear Lex & Terry on their station.

MISCELANEOUS

Where can I get a copy of something I heard on the show?

We do not supply audio of the show on request. If you want something you can subscribe to the podcast.

How do I submit my band for the “Lex & Terry Music Meeting”?

Send in your stuff to:

14001 N Dallas Pkwy, 3rd Fl,
Dallas, TX 75240

Only send CD’s. We do not accept Myspace or other webpages. Please remember that by sending in your music, you are subject to the honest, brutal and many times – unkind words of people on the show. So, if you send it and we trash it, don’t freak out and send us hate mail.

Can Lex & Terry donate, or be a part of, my charity?

Please understand that the guys and show receive similar requests everyday and it is obviously impossible to participate and/or mention the vast majority of them.

Lex & Terry have committed themselves to specific charities and place their focus on these events to help garner the largest response possible.

You can go to this page on the site to send us more information about your charity.

Will L&T sponsor my team, race car, cub scout troup or involved in my charity event?

Please know that we receive a request for this stuff everyday. Because of that it is very hard to to say yes to some things and no to others. Feel free to send in your request by filling out the form found here on the website and following the directions.

How can I advertise on L&T?

If you want to reach the entire national audience, please contact Jeff Steele at Premier Radio – 972-455-6283. If you want to reach a local market, please contact the sales department of our local affiliate. If you need help in finding that contact info, email Peter Welpton.

What type of bikes do L&T ride?

Terry – H/D Anniversary Edition Road King Classic.
Lex – H/D Street Glide

What are the “jacking” rules?

Because the show is filled with calls from the listeners, over time a set of rules have come about concerning etiquette on what not to do when your turn comes. Do not say: “Lookie Here”, “Is this Lex and/or Terry”, “Check this out”, or "the fatal”

What is a “H’POA”?

It is an acronym for “Hot Piece Of Ass”. It is a level of hotness achieved by only the very few chicks on the planet. Currently there are four girls with the title of “H’POA” and you can find out more about them here.

Why do I have to pay for the website?

Websites are not free to produce, especially this one. Lex & Terry provided their listeners a free site for many years out of their own pockets, but when it came time to expand on the benefits and content of the site the costs involved were large. So, for a subscription fee we think we are giving you a lot of awesome show content that you can’t find anywhere else.

Are the callers faked?

Nothing on the show is “faked” or “staged”. That would require us doing a lot of extra work and planning. Yup, every call we get is a real listener with a real problem and if the guys suspect that someone is staging it, or trying to goof on them, Lex & Terry will call that person out.

Did Terry really appear on a soap opera

Yes, it was Santa Barbara and he played “Chad” for a season. You can sometimes see his “work” on repeats on the Soap Opera Channel.

How did L&T get the nickname “The Givers”?

After the very first show the General Manager of the station hated Terry so much he told Lex to, “…put him on a plane back to California”. Hoping to salvage the new show, the guys began to give away just random and silly things from around the station. A listener called and greeted them with “The Givers” and L&T responded with “Us!” and it stuck. Of course in time the nickname took on a much larger meaning as Lex & Terry began working with different charities, helping out with listener needs and ulitmatly with their daily dose of “big brother-like” advice.
