Some say that Devell Reed should have stayed in the warehouse business instead of radio – but if you ask Devell, he says they are crazy! Devell who’s named himself Dee AKA Deeyotch knew that working long hours in manual labor was NOT for him. Dee picked himself up from his hometown of Tampa, FL in 1994 and moved to the booming city of Jacksonville Florida. After roaming around the streets of one the hottest southeast cities, Dee found himself Club DJ’ing and soon became one of the cities most sought after dj’s in the club circuit. After his massive appeal in the clubs became too overwhelming, Clear Channel radio knew that they had to get this guy on the air. As one Clear Channel radio executive has been overheard saying, “this guy is so hot in Jacksonville that we are foolish for not putting him on the air.” Of course this Clear Channel executive does not want his name printed in this story. We could not confirm the quote at press time. Soon thereafter Dee made his station choice (because at this point he was so popular in Jacksonville that he could choose the station he wanted to work) as an overnight dj at WJBT 92.7 The Beat. There is only one place that Dee was too land in the ratings chart and that was the number one overnight guy in Jacksonville. Some radio insiders say Dee was stealing show ideas from the Lex and Terry morning show but if you ask Devell he was simply borrowing. After being guilt ridden of his borrowing ways he decided to confess his sins on the air by calling into the show – the rest as they say is history…Dee automatically connected with Lex and Terry and started immediately as the show’s Do Boy and now is an intricate part of the morning show – In fact we don’t even know why the other two guys show up for work (But really we know that Dee would be lost soul with out them). Dee does everything from answer the phones, schedule guests, show prep, to show bits on the street. Yes, Dee AKA Deeyotch is the reason this show is on the air every morning…If he’s not here there really isn’t a reason for the show to go on...Because if Dee isn’t working the show could be violating EEOC guidelines.

Yes folks, the warehouse business’ lost is definitely morning radio’s gain.
