Podcast help
Since the launch of the new LexAndTerry.com, there have been a small percentage of listeners who are still unable to access the new podcast feed. We’ve created this page as a sort of repository for all of the information we collect on troubleshooting these issues for individual users. Our hope is that one of these solutions is able to fix the issues you may be having in accessing the feed.
This is, to date, and incomplete list of issues, and we will be adding to it as we discover more information.
First, here are the new podcast feed links.
- Small Podcast Feed - http://feeds.feedburner.com/LexAndTerry/small
- Large Podcast Feed - http://feeds.feedburner.com/LexAndTerry
- Sudden Death http://www.lexandterry.com/podcast/sudden-death
The “Small” feed is used for faster downloads and is better for mobile use because of the smaller file size.
The “Large” feed has higher audio quality and is more suitable for desktop computers with high-speed internet connections.
FYI, in ITunes, simply use the “advanced” menu, select “subscribe to podcast,” and paste one of the above links into that window. This will manually subscribe you to the podcast via ITunes.
Below are some of the more common issues that we’ve heard users are encountering:
Problem: The old podcast feed is stuck on 6/3/11.
You will need to update your podcast to the new feed. The old feed address will no longer work, so whether you’re using itunes or some other service, please replace the old feed with one of the links above.
Problem: Itunes returns an Error: 9006 when downloading podcasts or podcasts only partially download
There doesn’t seem to be a singular fix for this issue. There are multiple sources with detailed fixes online, each of them taking a different approach to fixing this. According to Apple’s stance, the Error 9006 is a problem with the end user’s setup, however it does not point to a specific problem, thus the trouble in fixing the issue. Below are links to several threads that detail other people’s frustration and process with Apple and this strange error:

One common issue seems to be that a firewall or proxy setting is causing this issue. You can also try disabling these things on your computer to see if that is the issue. If so, your firewall software should allow you to set trusted domains for downloading files. Take a look at your software’s documentation / help files for specific instructions.
Problem: The Podcast is not in the Zune Marketplace.
Microsoft is reviewing our link submission and will hopefully approve it shortly. Unfortunately, all you can do is submit the link and request they review it. After that, it’s out of our hands. We’ll be sure to announce via Twitter when we’re told that it’s in the Zune Marketplace. Until then, you can manually subscribe on your own via these instructions (around the 1:53 mark):
We will update this page with information as we have it. Thanks very much for your patience.
